Use AI as a tool. Don’t let it steer you.
Artificial intelligence is a brilliant accelerator – and a grandmaster of validation. Why that’s a problem for people with responsibility, and where a real human counterpart remains irreplaceable.
How AI use gradually slides from helpful to harmful – and what happens to productivity and your own thinking along the way.

Modern AI models are built to agree with us. That feels good. And gives you no grip.
Artificial intelligence is a brilliant accelerator. Used well, AI takes routine work off our hands, helps analyse data and frees up time. Technology should serve people – not the other way round.
It becomes harmful when AI is used as a substitute for human sparring partners, self-reflection and the capacity for deep relationships. One critical limitation: AI can’t offer long-term, structured, strategic sparring. It reacts and recombines existing patterns, but it has no strategic foresight and can’t accompany complex human dynamics over long periods of time.
On top of that, modern AI models are “grandmasters of validation”, optimised to keep telling us we’re right. This uncritical people-pleasing carries a real risk: a creeping mental dependence. If you get used to instant affirmation, you not only lose the ability to handle friction – you also risk becoming socially isolated. In digital interaction, the core elements of human communication – body language, gestures and facial expressions – are lost entirely. If your only conversations are with algorithms, you lose touch with the subtleties of real human contact.
In a BANI world shaped by overlapping crises – brittle, anxious, non-linear and incomprehensible – AI reaches its limits. It feels no empathy, takes no responsibility and can’t create real resonance. My approach uses AI where it genuinely helps, and gives you a real human counterpart exactly where transformation, strategic depth and healthy independence are needed.
What AI is good for. And what it isn’t.
Helpful: AI as a tool
- Taking over routine work, freeing up time
- Analysing data, spotting patterns at scale
- Speeding up drafts, summaries and research
- Structuring preparation, gathering options
- Serving people, not the other way round
Harmful: AI as a sparring partner
- A stand-in for human sparring and self-reflection
- Constant agreement instead of challenge: sycophancy by design
- No long-term, structured, strategic sparring
- No body language, gestures or facial expressions: social nuance gets lost
- No empathy, no responsibility, no resonance
Seven reasons for a human counterpart.
AI that serves people – not the other way round
Technology as a tool to unlock potential. AI should lighten your load and speed things up – without you handing over control to an algorithm.
Long-term strategic sparring
Real foresight instead of reactive algorithms. AI only remixes existing data; together, we develop a structured, long-term strategy for your leadership and your personal growth.
Breaking the cycle of AI dependence
Staying in charge. AI models are designed to keep agreeing with you and to make you quietly dependent on them. I offer an honest counterpart – for real traction and mental independence.
Championing real communication
Being present with all your senses. When you interact with AI, body language, gestures and facial expressions disappear. My approach sharpens your in-person impact and protects the social skills that are easily lost.
Human connection & responsibility
Algorithms don’t take responsibility and don’t live with the consequences. Real leadership and personal growth only happen in a space of mutual trust, genuine resonance and clear accountability.
Depth & real transformation
Real change instead of AI flattery. Where algorithms only scratch the surface, we work on deeper psychological dynamics, emotional blocks and personal values.
Strategy in the polycrisis
Finding your bearings in a BANI world. We build emotional and strategic resilience on several fronts – for times of overlapping crises, existential overwhelm or profound change.
